Actor Raymond Cruz, widely recognized for his role as Tuco Salamanca in Breaking Bad, was taken into custody in Los Angeles on Monday, September 8, following an alleged altercation that led to a misdemeanor battery arrest.

Police records indicate the incident unfolded mid-morning, around 10:40 a.m. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the arrest but has not yet filed formal charges.

Cruz’s representative, Raphael Berko, explained that the situation began while the actor was washing his car outside his home. According to Berko, a minivan carrying three women parked extremely close to Cruz’s vehicle. When he asked them to adjust their parking spot, the request was refused.

Tensions reportedly escalated when the women began recording him. As Cruz continued rinsing his car, water from the hose splashed onto the parked minivan, prompting one of the women to call the police. Officers later arrived and arrested the actor.

Berko stressed that Cruz, who has never previously been arrested and is also known for his long-running roles in The Closer and Major Crimes, was surprised by how quickly the situation escalated. He also noted that Cruz was treated respectfully during his five hours in custody.

Cruz was released on his own recognizance and is expected to appear in court on October 1. At this time, misdemeanor charges remain pending.
