Who is Lewis Capaldi? Singer set to headline major Cardiff show in 2026

After making an emotional return to the stage at Glastonbury earlier this year, Lewis Capaldi has now confirmed one of his biggest ever headline concerts – and Cardiff is on the list.

The chart-topping singer-songwriter will perform an outdoor show at Blackweir Fields on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, as part of a run of huge UK and Ireland dates announced today.

Capaldi’s comeback has been nothing short of remarkable. Following a two-year break to focus on his mental health, he surprised fans with an unannounced Glastonbury set in June, where he delivered both his signature ballads and the first live performance of his new single Survive. The track quickly became the fastest-selling single of 2025, securing him his sixth UK number one.

Currently in the middle of a sold-out 17-date arena tour – shifting over 200,000 tickets – Capaldi has been met with an outpouring of support from fans who have missed his blend of powerhouse vocals and trademark humour. He’s also scheduled to perform at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena later this month before returning next summer for his biggest Welsh show yet.

Pre-sale tickets for the Blackweir Live concert go on sale at 9am on Thursday, September 18, 2025, via blackweirlive.com/lewiscapaldi. General sale follows the next day, Friday, September 19, at 9am, through both the Blackweir Live website and Ticketmaster.

Blackweir Fields was only recently established as a large-scale live music site in Cardiff, thanks to a partnership between DEPOT Live and UK promoters Cuffe and Taylor. Announcing Capaldi as the first headliner of 2026, DEPOT Live founder Nick Saunders said:
