A shocking discovery has been made in Los Angeles after authorities found human remains inside a Tesla registered to rising music artist D4vd. The vehicle, a black 2023 Tesla, had been impounded in Hollywood after being reported abandoned in the Hollywood Hills several days earlier.
Police say workers at a local tow yard noticed a strong, foul odour coming from the car on Monday afternoon. When officers inspected the vehicle, they located a body sealed inside a bag in the Tesla’s front trunk, often referred to as a “frunk”. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has now launched a full investigation into the grim incident.
The Tesla is officially registered in Texas to David Anthony Burke, better known by his stage name D4vd. The 20-year-old American singer-songwriter rose to prominence with hit tracks such as Here with Me and Romantic Homicide, both of which have earned billions of streams globally.
Despite the shocking discovery, D4vd is currently continuing his “Withered” world tour, with his next performance scheduled in Minneapolis on Tuesday night. The tour includes a Los Angeles stop later in September, raising further public interest in how the situation might affect his professional commitments.
At present, the identity of the deceased has not been released. Investigators confirmed the body had been concealed in plastic and stored in the car for several days before detection. Officers placed a white canopy over the vehicle at the impound yard as they carried out forensic examinations.
Representatives for D4vd have yet to respond to media enquiries. While police have not suggested any direct link between the singer and the case, the bizarre circumstances surrounding the discovery have left fans and local residents stunned.
The LAPD is urging anyone with information to come forward as detectives continue to piece together how the abandoned car ended up containing human remains.
