Tunde Onakoye 2024
After an extraordinary and uninterrupted 58-hour chess session, in which he reached the 57-hour mark, Tunde Onakoya is the most recent Nigerian to achieve the Guinness World Record.
Hilda Baci, 2023
On May 15, 2023, Hilda Baci made Nigerians proud at the 93 hours and 11 minutes long cook-a-thon that was hosted in Lagos.
Divine Ikubor (Rema), 2023
Divine Ikubor, a.k.a. Rema, is a well-known Nigerian musician who has entered the Guinness World Book of Records. As the first-ever No. 1 Hit on The Official MENA Chart—the world’s first regional streaming chart—Rema’s hit song “Calm Down” created history.
Gbenga Ezekiel, 2022
Ezekiel broke his own record of 265 skips in one minute on one leg with 278 skips, and he surpassed the previous record of 132 skips set by India’s Himanshu Prajapati in 2021 with 144 double under skips in one minute on one leg.
Folashade Oluwafemiayo, 2022
Folashade Oluwafemiayo won the gold medal in her event at the Tbilisi, Georgia-hosted 2021 World Para Powerlifting Championships. She also achieved a new world record of 152.5 kg at this event. She participated in the heavyweight competition in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where she took home the gold medal.
Chukwuebuka Ezugha and Victor Richard Kipo, 2022
In Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, on March 11, 2022, Chukwuebuka Ezugha and Victor Richard Kipo (both Nigerians) accomplished the record of 252 consecutive passes of a football (soccer ball) between the head and soles (team of two).
Bose Omolayo, 2021
When Bose Omolayo achieved the largest parapower lift by a female in the -79 kg category in 2021, weighing 144 kg, she gained the title of Guinness World Record holder.
Chinonso Miracle Eche, 2021
Chinonso Miracle Eze broke the record for the “Most Consecutive Football Touches In One Minute While Balancing a Ball On His Head” and became the fastest person to reach 1,000 touches while balancing a second ball on his head.
Bayo Omoboriowo, 2021
In 2021, Bayo Omoboriowo created The Largest Photo Book, shattering the Guinness World Record. The 60.84 square metre (654 square feet and 87 square inch) photo book was created in association with The JT Agency and supported by the federal government. It is a reproduction of a photo collection named Discover Nigeria.

DJ Yin, 2021
In October 2021, Nigerian disc jockey Oyinka Asu-Johnson, better known by her stage as DJ Yin, broke the record for the longest DJ performance in history.
At The Grill by Yanna in Ikoyi, Lagos, she operated her set for 243 hours and 30 minutes, breaking the record.
