Tinubu sacks NSIPA CEO, Halima Shehu—here are 5 things to know
President Bola Tinubu has suspended Halima Shehu, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), citing alleged financial misconduct.
Channels reported that the president appointed Akindele Egbuwalo, the national N-Power programme manager, to act as Shehu’s replacement while investigations are ongoing.
A senior official in the presidency verified the development to TheCable, mentioning that Shehu was witnessed clearing her desk in the presence of stern-looking Department of State Services (DSS) personnel early Tuesday.
Here are 5 things to know about Halima Shehu
1. Halima Shehu hails from Kaduna and was born on the 12th of March, 2023.
2. Shehu studied English and International Affairs at Ahmadu Bello University.
3. With over 10 years in banking, she recently worked for the Katsina State Government and observed elections in Cape Verde for ECOWAS. Shehu is also a Non-Executive Director at NPL Advisors.
4. The Senate confirmed Shehu’s appointment on October 18, 2023. Prior to President Bola Tinubu appointing her, Shehu held the position of national coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme.

5. Also, she served with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, disaster management, and social development from 2017 to 2022.
