A tragic outbreak of gun violence shook Brooklyn early Sunday morning when shots rang out inside a packed lounge, leaving three people dead and eight others injured. Authorities confirmed that multiple gunmen were involved, and an urgent manhunt is now underway.

The shooting unfolded around 3:30 a.m. at the Taste of the City lounge in Crown Heights. According to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, a heated dispute inside the venue escalated into gunfire, with dozens of patrons caught in the chaos. Responding officers arrived swiftly after a flood of 911 calls, finding 11 victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Three men—two aged 27 and 35, and a third whose age has not yet been confirmed—were pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining eight victims, ranging in age from 27 to 61, were rushed to nearby hospitals where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators discovered at least 36 shell casings scattered across the lounge, indicating the likelihood of multiple shooters. A firearm was also recovered near the scene, though authorities are still working to confirm if it was used in the attack.

Despite the severity of the incident, Tisch noted that overall gun violence in New York City has dropped to record lows this year, making this shooting an alarming exception. “This was a terrible tragedy,” she said, assuring the public that detectives are combing through surveillance footage and witness statements to piece together what led to the bloodshed.

As of Sunday morning, no suspects were in custody, and police continue to pursue leads while canvassing the neighborhood for additional evidence.
