For city residents and commuters, this means preparing for rolling street closures and parking restrictions that will reshape traffic patterns throughout the day. Many closures will lift by midday, while others will remain in effect until 5 p.m., so planning ahead is key.



Key Road Closures for Race Day

Several prominent streets will be inaccessible for hours:

  • Broad Street: Closed from Arthur Ashe Boulevard to N. 10th Street until 10 a.m.

  • Hermitage Road (northbound): Closed between Laburnum Avenue and Pope Avenue until 1 p.m.

  • Arthur Ashe Boulevard: Northbound from W. Cary Street to Hermitage Road (4 a.m.–3 p.m.) and southbound from W. Broad Street to Monument Avenue (4 a.m.–9 a.m.)

Additional road closures will affect areas including Bellevue Avenue, Brook Road, Crestwood Road, Cowardin Avenue, Fauquier Avenue, Forest Hill Avenue, Grove Avenue, Maple Avenue, Pope Avenue, River/Cary Street Road, Riverside Drive, Scottview Drive, and Westmoreland Street. No-Parking Zones and Towing Alerts

Race organizers have implemented multiple no-parking zones starting Wednesday, November 12, at 9 p.m. Vehicles left in restricted areas will be subject to towing beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, November 14. Locations include sections of Bellevue Avenue, Brook Road, Crestwood Road, Cowardin Avenue, Fauquier Avenue, Forest Hill Avenue, and more.   • 8 a.m.–2:30 p.m.: Post-Race Party on Brown’s Island

Course closures will end as follows: half-marathon by 11:30 a.m. and full marathon by 2 p.m. Spectators can cheer runners at designated “12 On Your Side” Party Zones along the course at miles 7, 13, and 19 for the full marathon and mile 7 for the half-marathon.
