Provo fire update: Everything you need to know

Aerial crews battle the Buckley Draw Fire as smoke billows over Utah Valley Sunday evening.
A fast-moving wildfire broke out Sunday evening in the mountains east of Utah Valley, filling the skies with heavy plumes of smoke visible from miles away.
Authorities said the blaze, now named the Buckley Draw Fire, ignited around 5 p.m. near Buckley Draw Canyon, just south of Slate Canyon and west of Kyhv Peak Road. By nightfall, officials with the U.S. Forest Service estimated it had already scorched between 250 and 400 acres of land, feeding on dry grass and brush as winds pushed flames uphill.
Fire crews from Provo and Utah County, along with federal teams, were on the scene working to slow its advance. Helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft have been dropping water and retardant throughout the evening, while ground crews battle the flames from below.
Provo Police and city officials urged the public to avoid the Slate Canyon and Mountain View Parkway areas to allow firefighters clear access. They also warned residents not to fly drones near the fire, stressing that interference could halt critical aerial suppression efforts and potentially lead to criminal penalties.
For now, there are no evacuation orders and no homes are reported at risk. Officials said the blaze is confined to Forest Service land and being driven primarily by dry vegetation and shifting winds.
The exact cause of the fire has not been determined.
