Nigeria records eight new coronavirus cases as toll hits 97
Nigeria has recorded eight new coronavirus cases bringing the total number of cases in the country to 97.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced this on Twitter on Saturday evening.
It said two of the new cases are in the federal capital territory, four in Oyo and one in Kaduna and Osun.
“Eight new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 2 in FCT, 4 in Oyo, 1 in Kaduna and 1 in Osun State As at 10:40 pm 28th March there are 97 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death,” the tweet read.
Of the 97 confirmed cases, Lagos has 59, the federal capital territory (FCT) 16, Ogun three and Oyo seven.
Edo, Osun, Bauchi and Enugu states have two cases each. And Ekiti, Kaduna, Rivers and Benue state have one case each.

Suleiman Achimugu, a former managing director of the Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC), is Nigeria’s only casualty from the disease so far.
He died on Monday after returning to the country from the UK.
Over 600,000 coronavirus cases have bee recorded globally, with more than 28,000 deaths.
