New York City: Costal flood alerts for Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Staten Island

Flash floods in Tennessee leave three dead, one missing as rescuers battle historic rainfall in Chattanooga and surrounding areas.

New York City is under multiple coastal flood advisories and warnings from August 21 to 22, 2025, as high tides combined with hazardous surf create the potential for flooding across vulnerable waterfront areas. Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island are all experiencing varying levels of inundation, with streets, parks, parking lots, and basements at risk. Residents are urged to move vehicles to higher ground, protect flood-prone property, and stay alert to emergency updates as city agencies prepare for successive high tides and scattered dune erosion.
