LP, NNPP win one each, PDP gets 9, APC clinches 15 states — how political parties fared in guber election

Seyi Makinde gets criticised by APC.

The much-awaited governorship election has come and gone. The exercise, held on March 18 alongside the state house of assembly election, took place in 28 states across the country.

As expected, the outcome of the election has continued to elicit reactions.

But how did the various political parties fare in the election?

The guber election was contested by several parties. However, the four major political parties include the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Of the 28 states, results of 26 states have been declared by INEC so far. The electoral body had earlier declared the results of the remaining two states — Kebbi and Adamawa — inconclusive.

A breakdown of the results by CRISPNG shows PDP won 9, LP and NNPP won one each while the APC clinched 15 states.
