JAMB confirms date for UTME registration and examination…see how to score 280 and above
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed dates for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Recall that some months ago, there were speculations on the actual date of JAMB registration and UTME (Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination), as many aspiring candidates were wondering when the 2025 JAMB form would be available.
Well, in a meeting with media executives on Sunday, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB Registrar announced that the JAMB registration form will officially commence on the 31st of January and end on the 5th of March, 2025. He further stated that UTME will take place on the 8th of March, 2025.

However, he also revealed other things that made this year’s UTME stand out from others. They are:
Introduction of Mock UTME for underaged students who wish to have an experience of JAMB CBT( Computer-Based Test). He stated that the Mock is not a qualification for university admission but a trial-testing examination for students below the age of sixteen(16).
Age of admission: The registrar stated that for candidates to qualify for admission, they must be sixteen (16) years of age on or before the 30th of September this year.
Sales of direct entry and e-pin: Direct entry form will commence on the 10th of March, while e-pin will be available on April 7.
Payment or purchase fees: UTME Form fee with mock is N8,200, UTME without mock is N7,200, Mock trial- purchase is N5,700, and Direct entry purchase is N5,700.
CBT centers: JAMB has provided about 870 computer-based test centres that have been screened and listed for the 2025 UTME compared to 747 approved last year.
Exception: The Board made an exception rule for an underage who scores 280 and above. Such a person would be granted admission on the grounds of exceptional intelligence.

Focus on JAMB Syllables
Ensure you collect your JAMB syllable and read through it. Focus on the requirement of your syllable. Don’t waste time on irrelevant ones.
Use Recommended Textbooks and Materials
Ensure you use JAMB-recommended textbooks and study guides.
Make a study plan
Ensure you draw a physical study plan. Try to allocate more time to subjects or topics you find challenging.
Practice Past Questions
Obtain past JAMB question papers and practice them consistently. Identify common question patterns and focus on high-frequency topics.
Register with a good JAMB lesson tutor or centre
Ensure you register with a good JAMD centre or tutor. This will help you scale your exams and prepare you for the University journey.
Take Mock Exams
Take JAMB mock exams to gauge your readiness and improve speed and accuracy.
Master the Use of CBT
Familiarize yourself with the JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) system and practise often.
Stay Consistent
Stick to your study plan and avoid last-minute cramming. Consistency is key to retaining information. Learn to also avoid procrastination.
