Netflix subscribers across the United States faced widespread disruptions on Tuesday evening, August 26, 2025, leaving thousands unable to stream their favorite shows and movies.
Outage monitoring site DownDetector registered more than 11,000 problem reports beginning around 6:15 p.m. ET. Viewers described a range of issues, including failed logins, persistent black screens, and error messages such as: “We’re having trouble accessing these titles for you right now. Please try again.”
Although some users noted that access to certain titles was restored later in the evening, many continued to experience partial or complete service loss well into the night.
By 9:30 p.m. ET, Netflix had yet to release an official statement or update on its social media channels. The platform, which has over 300 million paid subscribers worldwide, also did not respond to media inquiries for comment.
This marks the second major outage of the year. In May 2025, Netflix experienced a similar disruption affecting more than 75,000 users in the U.S., with error messages indicating that content was “not available to watch instantly.”
As of now, no timeline has been provided for a full restoration of service. Customers encountering problems are advised to consult the Netflix Help Center or confirm the stability of their internet service providers.
