#ImoDecides: How Hope Uzodinma won re-election –see his votes
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Governor Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of Imo State’s governorship election.
The figures reveal Uzodinma’s triumph with 540,308 votes, surpassing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Samuel Anyanwu, who secured 71,503 votes, and Labour Party’s Athan Achonu with 64,081 votes. Uzodinma emerged victorious in all 27 local government areas, while other candidates failed to breach the 10,000-vote mark.
Registered voters and PVCs collected
The total number of registered voters stood at 2,419,922, with 2,318,919 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected. However, the voter turnout remained below a specified percentage.

INEC’s declaration implies a four-year extension for Uzodinma as Imo governor, pending any legal challenges. This victory echoes Uzodinma’s previous ascent to power in January 2020, labeled the ‘Supreme Court’ governor, following the nullification of Emeka Ihedioha’s win in the 2019 election.
