Immigration, NSCDC, fire service, NCoS recruitment: Available roles, qualifications, others you should know

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has launched a nationwide recruitment exercise into four of Nigeria’s key paramilitary agencies: the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS).

This major recruitment drive follows the approval of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and is in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to the board, a total of 30,150 vacancies are open across the four agencies. These include 5,000 slots for the NSCDC, 10,000 each for the Immigration and Fire Services, and 5,150 for the Correctional Service.

In addition, 209 roles are available within the CDCFIB secretariat. The recruitment aims to improve national security, enhance institutional capacity, and create job opportunities for Nigerian youths.

Interested candidates must submit their applications online via the official portal: www.cdcfib.career or cdcfib.gov.ng. The application is completely free, and no payments are required at any stage.

The board emphasised that only eligible candidates will be shortlisted and contacted via the details they provide on the portal.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be Nigerian citizens by birth
• Aged between 18 and 30 years (some roles allow up to 35 years)
• Must possess a minimum of five O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics
• Additional qualifications such as ND, HND, or university degrees may be required depending on the role
• Must be physically fit and meet the following height requirements:
  • Male: not less than 1.65 metres
  • Female: not less than 1.60 metres
• Must have a clean criminal record and no physical disabilities
• Must provide valid documents and upload them during online registration

Applicants are advised to monitor the official portal for updates regarding the deadline, screening schedule, and shortlisted candidates.

The CDCFIB has also issued a strong warning to the public to beware of fraudsters and fake job alerts. Only announcements made through the official portal and national newspapers should be trusted. The board also revealed that a waiver is being sought to shorten the usual six-week publication window to three weeks, in a bid to fast-track the recruitment process.
