The 2025 Grammy Award came with some history setting records as many stars outshined others in different categories of nomination. Popular stars like Tems, Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Chappell Roan, Daniel Nigro, Sabrina Carpenter, and Amy Allen clutched some Grammy prizes home.
The Award event was held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday night, hosted by world-acclaimed comic star Trevor Noah. It was graced by many music stars all over the world with electrifying performances from Charli, Eilish, Roan, Carpenter, Benson Boone, Doechii, RAYE, Shakira and Teddy Swims.

A tribute performance to Los Angeles was made by Brad Paisley, Brittany Howard, and others in recognition of the recent fire raze in the city.
Highlights of the Award
Beyonce’sBest Album of the Year win was one of the top highlights of the event. Her epic reactions when her name was called up including the reaction from her husband Jay-Z, and her daughter, Blue Ivy were moments never to be forgotten so quickly.
Kendrick Lamar’s clean sweep of all five nominations categories for his song “Not Like Us” was a history-making one, instituting him as a king in his field.
Another spectacular event was Sabrina Carpenter’s performance which captured the attention of everyone present at the event. It was filled with hilarious acts that set the arena reeled in laughter. The year’s host Trevor couldn’t but ask if Sabrina wanted to take his role.
Also, Chappell Roan’s theatrical performance of Pink Pony Club stole the hearts of the audience as she perfectly executed her acts.
Also, Janelle Monaé’s performance of Michael Jackson’s Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough was a performance that raised the bar of the ceremony so high and Trevor’s awesome hosting style wouldn’t be forgotten in a hurry.
Side picks like Rapper Kanye West and his Wife Bianca Censori’s nude display and their quick exit from the event was one that has left tongues wagging.
Nigerian Twitter space was not left out, immediately the news got out that Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, had won the Best African Music Performance, the X space was blown off with massive reactions, memes, shades and congratulations from all angles.
She won against popular Nigerian music stars like Davido, Whizkid, Burna Boy, and Yemi Alade including other African country music stars.
