The popular Lebanon street market, Dugbe, Ibadan in Oyo State, has been engulfed by fire, destroying buildings and goods worth millions of naira.

The fire was said to have consumed a storey building, spreading its tentacles across some other shops along the street, destroying both cars and other valuable properties of shop owners at the market.

According to reports, the fire which started around 1.20 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon destroyed shops where mattresses, clothes, household goods and electronics are sold.

It took the combined efforts of officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the State’s fire services men to put out the fire, after several hours.

No death, has however, been confirmed from the inferno as at the time this report was filed.
