In line with the Federal Government’s “Nigeria First” policy aimed at promoting sustainable development and inter-agency collaboration, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has donated two Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses to the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).

The donation marks a significant step in fostering eco-friendly transportation within government institutions while supporting Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy sources.

The presentation took place at the FIRS headquarters in Abuja, with officials from both agencies present to witness the event. The move is seen as a commitment to reducing carbon emissions and cutting fuel costs in public service operations.

Speaking on the occasion, FIRS Executive Chairman commended the synergy between the two agencies and reaffirmed the service’s dedication to supporting national development goals. The Director-General of BPP expressed gratitude, noting that the buses would enhance mobility and efficiency in the Bureau’s operations.

The CNG buses are part of the broader national initiative to phase in alternative fuel vehicles across ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to boost environmental sustainability and economic resilience.
