The Federal Government has temporarily suspended its online recruitment portal for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), and Federal Fire Service (FFS).

The move, announced on Wednesday via a statement from Maj‑Gen A.M. Jibril (retd.), Secretary to the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), is aimed at improving system efficiency amid high application volumes.

According to the statement issued in Abuja, the portal was closed temporarily to undertake necessary system upgrades that can handle the surge of enthusiastic applicants.

The CDCFIB emphasized that the suspension is a proactive step to ensure the recruitment process remains smooth, transparent, and fair for all candidates.

Maj‑Gen Jibril noted that the exercise—initially launched on June 30, 2025—has attracted thousands of applicants seeking roles across the four agencies.

He expressed appreciation for the strong interest from young Nigerians and reassured that the temporary pause is in their best interest. The portal is slated to reopen on Monday, July 21, 2025, and applicants are advised to stay alert and apply promptly once it becomes available again.

The CDCFIB also urged applicants to closely monitor updates on the official recruitment platform and prepare their documentation ahead of the reopening. With this intervention, the federal government aims to forestall technical glitches, ensure equitable access, and maintain integrity throughout the selection process.
