Fairview shooting leaves two dead, two injured– how did it happen? Here’s all to know

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has confirmed that two people were killed and two others injured in a shooting early Saturday morning in Fairview.
According to officials, deputies from the Major County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 12:45 a.m. to a residence on the 800 block of Sylvia Street after reports of gunfire. When authorities arrived, they discovered multiple victims, including teenagers. One of the children died from their injuries, while another remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The OSBI said the motive behind the attack is still unclear. Investigators have not released further details about what led up to the shooting but noted there is no ongoing threat to the public. No suspects have been identified at this time.
The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

AUGUST 17, 2025TWO DEAD, TWO INJURED FOLLOWING SHOOTING IN FAIRVIEW
FAIRVIEW, OK – On August 16, 2025, the Fairview Police Department requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate a shooting.
At approximately 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a residence near East State Road and Sylvia Street in Fairview. When officers arrived on scene, they located four individuals with apparent gunshot wounds.
A 49-year-old male and 17-year-old female were pronounced deceased on scene. A 44-year-old female and 13-year-old male were treated and transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
At this time, there are no suspects at large and no additional injuries. OSBI special agents are still piecing together what led up to the shooting, as this investigation is still ongoing. We will provide updates when additional information is available.
