Crisp Nigeria (CrispNG), a youth-focused online media platform, has announced its lineup of speakers for the maiden annual lecture on August 17, 2024, including a former minister and a top aide to the Niger State Governor.

The event, organised to commemorate the International Youth Day, will focus on the theme “The Nigeria of Our Dreams: Are the Youths Involved?”



This lecture aims to foster meaningful discussions on how young Nigerians can be more effectively integrated into governance and leadership roles, contributing to the nation’s development.

  • Solomon Dalung

Among the esteemed speakers for the event is Solomon Dalung, a renowned human rights advocate and former Minister of Youth and Sports Development in Nigeria.



Dalung, who has also served as the Chairman of Langtang South Local Government in Plateau State and as a lecturer at the University of Jos, brings extensive experience in public service and a deep commitment to justice. The Ex-minister will address the topic “The Nigeria of our dreams: Rebuilding the trust of youth in the Nigerian project.”

Dalung will examine rising distrust in Nigeria, the japa syndrome and how government and relevant stakeholders can rebuild trust of youth in the Nigerian project.



  • Dr. Ambrose Igboke

Adding to the lineup is Dr. Ambrose Igboke, a distinguished international affairs analyst with years of professional experience. As Chairman of the Guild of Public Affairs Analysts in Enugu, Dr. Igboke has become a prominent voice in Nigeria’s socio-political landscape, constantly leading solution-driven conversations to improve nation building.

Dr. Igboke will be providing insights on the involvement of youth in leadership and governance. The top analyst will give an overview of Nigerian youths and their participation in governance since 1960, drawing useful insights.

He will also address rising apathy among youths for critical governance-related issues such as election and leadership in recent years.

In addition, Igboke will examine the preparedness of youths for leadership in Nigeria, the challenges to youth involvement in the Nigerian project, and the way forward.

  • Aisha Wakaso

Aisha Wakaso, a seasoned journalist and the Special Adviser to the Niger State Governor on Print Media, will also be speaking at the event. Known for her heroics as a media consultant, public speaker, and advocate for women’s rights; Wakaso will share insights on the role of women in governance with the topic “The Nigeria of our dreams: Preparing women and girls for leadership.

  • Prof. Luke Anorue

The lecture will also feature Prof. Luke Ifeanyichukwu Anorue, a respected scholar and lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Prof. Anorue’s contributions to the field of mass communication have been widely recognized, and his presentation titled “The Nigeria of our dreams: Leveraging power of media for youth engagement in nation-building” will explore how media can serve as a powerful tool for youth engagement in nation-building.

  • Halima Layeni

Halima Layeni, the Founder & Executive Director of the Life After Abuse Foundation, is another notable speaker. Layeni, who is a passionate advocate for men’s mental health, has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the U.S. Consul General Award and the Nguvu Collective Changemaker title.

Her address will focus on “The challenges of building in Nigeria-perspectives of young change makers”.

  • Busaosowo Osowoodarunae Bisong

Busaosowo Osowoodarunae Bisong, an award-winning social innovator and legal practitioner, will also take the stage speaking on “The challenges of building in Nigeria –perspectives of young change makers”.

Bisong, who is known for publishing Nigeria’s first local content guide on drug abuse prevention, is a prominent SpeakUpStandOut activist and Na’amal 2024 global mentor.

  • Blessing Chukwuneke

The lecture will be moderated by Blessing Chukwuneke, a journalist and CrispNG’s communication strategist. Chukwuneke, who is also a show host, is a 2023 Africa Foundation for Young Media Professionals fellow.
