Emails exchanged in August 2010 between convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and an account labeled “The Duke” indicate that Epstein attempted to arrange a meeting between the royal figure and a 26-year-old Russian woman.

According to the correspondence, Epstein mentioned that the woman would be in London that month and suggested that the Duke “might enjoy having dinner with her.” The recipient replied that he would be in Geneva until 22 August but would be “delighted to see her.” He also asked whether she would be carrying a message from Epstein and requested that his contact details be shared so she could reach out directly.

The emails were signed simply with the letter “A” and included what appears to be a signature block reading “HRH Duke of York KG.” In a subsequent message, the Duke’s account asked Epstein if there was “any other information you might know about her that might be useful to know.” Epstein responded by describing the woman as “26, Russian, clever, beautiful, trustworthy,” and noted that she already had the recipient’s email.

This exchange occurred just a month after Epstein completed a jail sentence in July 2010 for soliciting sex from a 14-year-old girl in Florida, a conviction he received in 2008.

BBC News has reached out to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the Duke of York, for comment. No response has been provided as of publication.

The Duke of York has long faced scrutiny for his association with Epstein. He has consistently denied any involvement in wrongdoing, stating that he did not “see, witness or suspect any behaviour of the sort that subsequently led to [Epstein’s] arrest and conviction.”
