Enugu: NGO endorses Governor Ugwuanyi for second term

Ahead of the forthcoming general election, a nongovernmental organization, the Chido Foundation in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, Enugu State has commenced grassroots mobilization and sensitization across the state towards the re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for a second tenure in office.
Speaking at the official inauguration ceremony of “Gburugburu is a Goal Campaign Group and Chido Foundation” on December 30, 2018 in Aji, Enugu-Ezike, the initiator and chairman, Chido Foundation, Mr. Chidozie Idoko strongly pledged support for Governor Ugwuanyi’s re-election, noting that he is a God-fearing leader who deserves a second tenure in office.
He noted that the people of the area and Enugu State at large are happy with Governor Ugwuanyi’s landmark achievements across Enugu State and are therefore united in their determination to ensure his continuity in office beyond 2019. He commended Governor Ugwuanyi for the remarkable and exemplary way he has piloted the affairs of Enugu State and expressed gratitude to him for the monumental infrastructural development in the state evidenced in numerous road constructions across the three senatorial districts in the state.

He maintained that Governor Ugwuanyi has been running an all-inclusive and development-oriented governance in the state while there is every hope that another four years of him in the saddle will really take Enugu State to the real next level. He called on all stakeholders across the state to give maximum support to the continuity project of the Governor.
The Enugu State Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources, Prince (Dr.) Emeka Mamah amiably represented Governor Ugwuanyi at the inauguration. He expressed satisfaction with the prudent manner the initiator Mr. Chidozie Idoko organized the event as well as his continued love and concern for the less privilege, encouraging him to do more.
He observed with great delight the peace and security of lives and prosperity being enjoyed in Enugu State as well as the governors inclusive leadership style, describing them as unprecedented in the history of the state.
The Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial Zone, Sen. Chukwuka Utazi, commended the Managing Director, Chido Group, Mr. Chidozie Idoko for organizing the epoch-making event, describing the act as one worthy of emulation. He thanked the PDP stakeholders in the Council for turning out en mass, pledging the resolve of the political party to continue to support the Chido Group.
Earlier, Chairman of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Council, Comrade Uwakwe Ezeja, the aspirant, Federal House of Representative, Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Constituency, Engr. Dr. Simon Atigwe, the PDP Chairman, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Council, Mr. Alex Urama among others had all given their total commitment and support towards realizing the objectives of the Chido foundation, resolving to join hands with other people of the state to ensure the governor’s success in the forthcoming general elections .
Highlights of the inauguration ceremony included musical performances by some notable entertainers especially by Mr. Marcel Chinedu Ugwuanyi aka Young Czed who thrilled the excited audience with his remarkable musical display in a melodious song titled “It’s a goal” which drums support for Governor Ugwuanyi’s re-election as was produced by Beat Money with mixing/mastering by Freeky Mix, distribution of bags of rice and other food items to the community widows, among others.
Some of the widows who spoke with journalists thanked the benefactor, Mr. Chidozie Idoko for his philanthropy, describing him as a great gift to the people of Aji and humanity at large. As a show of gratitude for such generosity, the community women who could not hide their joy promised to continually uphold Mr. Chidozie in their daily prayers for the protection, sustenance and growth of his life and business.
There is no gainsaying that the Chido Foundation has indeed impacted positively on the lives of many Nigerians and also lifted them from the poverty level that they were hitherto confined. It was a direct show of love and innermost care for the very poor and less-privileged that drew the commendation of prominent politicians who graced the occasion to describe the gesture as a legacy that would forever linger in the minds of the down-trodden.
