Elizabeth Taylor Chocolate Martini returns: What you need to know

Sip for a Cause: The Elizabeth Taylor Chocolate Martini Supports AIDS Awareness
Tryst Hospitality is bringing old Hollywood glamour to the glass with its reinvented Elizabeth Taylor Chocolate Martini. Originally crafted by Taylor herself alongside Rock Hudson during the filming of Giant in 1955, this decadent cocktail has been reimagined for today’s bar scene—luxurious, smooth, and irresistibly rich.
The new martini combines Tito’s Vodka, Kahlúa, and chocolate syrup, shaken to perfection over ice and served up elegantly. Yet, this is more than a treat for the taste buds: every martini purchased contributes $1 to The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF), supporting the fight for an AIDS-free world.
From Hollywood to the World
Tryst Hospitality’s connection with ETAF has deep roots at The Abbey Food & Bar in West Hollywood, where events like World AIDS Day tree lightings have long celebrated the community. Now, the initiative is expanding internationally across Tryst locations:
-
The Abbey and The Chapel at The Abbey, West Hollywood
-
Tryst Puerto Vallarta
-
Tryst Fire Island (opening 2026)
-
Tryst San Juan (under renovation)
-
Circo San Juan (opening Fall 2025)
-
The Blue Whale and Pavilion, Fire Island Pines
Each venue pledges an annual donation to ETAF, supplemented by matching contributions from liquor partners when available, ensuring a steady stream of support for the foundation’s work.
Honoring a Trailblazer
For Tryst founder Tristan Schukraft, the cocktail represents more than fundraising—it is a tribute. “Elizabeth Taylor spoke out about AIDS long before it was widely discussed,” he said. “She hosted early fundraisers, supported our community when few would, and used her voice for change. Her legacy continues to inspire.”
Cathy Brown, ETAF’s Executive Director, highlighted the initiative’s significance: “Elizabeth Taylor believed in using every opportunity to fight HIV. This collaboration channels her spirit into places where community and connection thrive.”
Raise a Glass
The Elizabeth Taylor Chocolate Martini is now available at select Tryst Hospitality locations. Every sip celebrates Taylor’s enduring impact—both in the world of cocktails and in the fight against AIDS.
