The Jonas Brothers were already tugging at fans’ heartstrings with the launch of their nostalgic 20th anniversary tour — but their very first show turned the sentimentality up a notch.

The trio — Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas — kicked off JONAS20 on Sunday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, not far from where they grew up. Midway through the set, the brothers began reminiscing about their Disney Channel days and the 2008 hit movie Camp Rock. That’s when they surprised the crowd by welcoming a very special guest: Demi Lovato.

Lovato, who starred as Mitchie Torres opposite Joe Jonas’s character in the film, joined him on stage for an emotional throwback performance. The pair delivered fan favorites from the Camp Rock franchise, including “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing,” as the crowd sang along.

Clips of the reunion quickly spread on social media, showing Lovato and Jonas grinning and sharing the stage like old times. Later, the two posted a playful video together lip-syncing a well-known Debby Ryan interview clip about “wanting to make history” at Disney.

“For the history books @joejonas,” Lovato captioned her post.

Since her Disney days, Lovato has built a powerhouse music career and recently married fellow musician Jordan “Jutes” Lutes. Joe Jonas, meanwhile, finalized his divorce from actress Sophie Turner in 2024.

Who is Joe Jonas?

Joe Jonas first rose to fame in the mid-2000s as one-third of the Jonas Brothers, the pop-rock trio he formed with his brothers Kevin and Nick. The group became Disney Channel icons with hit albums, chart-topping singles, and a starring role in the Camp Rock film series alongside Demi Lovato.

In addition to his work with the Jonas Brothers, Joe launched a successful side project as the lead vocalist of DNCE, best known for their infectious 2015 hit Cake by the Ocean. His energetic stage presence and versatility have earned him a lasting place in pop culture.

Off stage, Joe has also been active in acting, appearing in Disney Channel series, reality shows, and music competitions. His personal life has often been in the spotlight, including his 2019 marriage to actress Sophie Turner and their subsequent divorce in 2024.

With the Jonas Brothers’ JONAS20 tour, Joe continues to celebrate two decades of music, reconnecting with fans who have grown up alongside him — proving that nostalgia and fresh energy can go hand in hand.
