 Day Ukelle nation Celebrated Prof Michael Okom’s emergence as UNICAL’s DVC Admin

April 16, 2021 remains memorable as the streets of Calabar the capital of Cross River State were agog as the Ukelle people celebrate the elevation of one of their illustrious sons prof Mike Okom to the dignify position of Deputy Vice Chancellor Admin University of Calabar.



It was a dream come true for the former Dean Faculty of Law in the institution as his academic prowess through smart hard work,commitment, uprightness and experience endeared him to the admiration of colleagues and the institution’s Vice Chancellor professor Florence Obi who considered him as a perfect specimen for the job.

As one among the Ukelle firsts,prof Okom has distinguished himself as the first Ukelle person to occupy such prominent position in our ivory tower. Hence,the need for the Ukelle Nation to honour and celebrate him elaborately.

It was indeed the garthering of Ukelle intellectuals, artisans, politicians, students, traditional and religious leaders among others to honour and celebrate prof Okom as the first DVC Admin from UkelleNation. The dignitaries poor out their hearts praying for him and Ukelle Nation for success and pride of place.



They use the opportunity to plead with prof Okom to protect Ukelle interest in the institution by giving succour to admission seekers from Ukelle as well as considering those seeking to be employ in the institution.

The high point of the event was the prayer session for a hitch free administration and favour to Ukelle nation as well as the birthed of Education Trust Fund to assist deserving sons and daughters from Ukelle as they pursue their academic dreams.

The elated prof. Okom thanked the people for their show of love and asked rhetorically what is the best way to thank or appreciate someone.
