“First of all, I don’t think those people know how bad my injuries were and how hard I’ve had to work just to get back to professional level of racing,” Froome said. “Those people clearly don’t know me as a person. I’m not just going to hang it up. I know I can get there, it’s just going to take time.”

His comments come amid concerns about his future in the sport, with his contract at Israel–Premier Tech set to expire at the end of the season. Despite his injury setback, Froome remains determined to continue racing, reaffirming his resilience and commitment.

Froome, one of cycling’s most decorated athletes, has won the Tour de France four times and earned two Olympic bronze medals. He has battled major injuries before, notably in 2019 when he was ruled out of the Tour after a training crash left him in intensive care.

While his latest injuries will sideline him for the remainder of the season, Froome’s message signals that he intends to fight for a comeback rather than bowing out of professional racing.
