It was a case of a massive uproar yesterday when a now-deleted post on the official Instagram account of the popular legendary musician, Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba or Tuface, hinted that his marriage with Annie Idibia has hit a heavy rock. The post says
“Hello to my beautiful people of all FEDERATIONS.
“WELL THIS THING I HAVE TO SAY IS SHORT BUT ALSO LONG… I AND ANNIE MACAULAY HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FOR A WHILE NOW. AND CURRENTLY FILED DIVORCE…
“I WOULD GRANT A PRESS RELEASE SOON TO SAY MY STORY. NOT BECAUSE IT IS ANYONE’S RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE, BUT BECAUSE I LOVE MY PEOPLE AND I NEED THEM TO KNOW MY INNOCENCE OR OFFENCE.
“STAY BLESSED, MY PEOPLE. I LOVE YOU ALL.”
This post stirred massive reactions from netizens and had a lot of negative attribution to it.
However, while people were still weighing the heaviness of the post, 2Baba came up a few minutes later on his Instagram story and declared that his account was hacked.
“My Instagram account has been hacked; efforts are being carried out to take back control. #onelove!”
While this counter post is yet to settle very well with netizens, PunchOnline reported that 2Baba made a video attesting that he is the one who made the post and his account wasn’t hacked.
He affirmed his separation from Annie Idibia and confirmed that their divorce process is starting soon.

Annie and 2Baba’s relationship
Annie and 2Baba first met in 1999 when Annie was just 15 years old and still in secondary school. At the time, 2Baba was a young musician trying to make his entry into the Nigerian music scene. Annie described it as love at first sight. The couple started dating in 2000 and got married in 2013. The celebrity couple has been married for over 12 years; however, these years have been filled with cheating scandals from 2Baba who had 5 kids from different baby mamas (Pero Adeniyi and Sumbo Ajaba).
Annie’s first child is 2Baba’s 5th child, which shows that the music star fathered kids outside while dating Annie.
When Tuface’s cheating spree was trending on the internet, many people thought Annie would leave the relationship because of the lack of respect from the baby mamas and every jab thrown at her as much, but Annie stayed put.
Although 2Baba issued a public apology to Annie in 2021, that didn’t change his philandering behaviour; surprisingly, Annie has always defended him against media attacks.
Annie has often been candid about the challenges of being married to 2Baba. During her appearance on the Netflix reality show Young, Famous & African in 2022, Annie opened up about the pain of being with someone who had children with other women before marrying her. She revealed:
“When you meet someone and they already have five kids, you know you’re the last on the list.”
Her emotional confession resonated with fans and reignited conversations about the sacrifices women make in relationships. Despite the hurt caused by 2Baba’s actions, Annie has maintained her commitment to their marriage, often describing him as her “soulmate.”
The news of their separation is such a shock because Annie has endured a lot for 2Baba, and if there is anyone that should seek a divorce, it ought to be Annie.
